Dental Medicine area for:
Dental reconstruction due to caries lesions, trauma with fracture and also aesthetic rehabilitation of dental malformations of shape, texture or coloration,
Through direct or indirect minimally invasive techniques and materials capable of mimicking all specific dental characteristics of deciduous teeth, young or younger definitive teeth.
In any of the situations the Dentistry allows the teeth to recover their aesthetic, anatomical and functional features.

ORAL SURGERY

Its purpose is to prevent, diagnose and treat changes, lesions and pathologies of the oral cavity and attached structures.
Extractions of irrecoverable teeth, destroyed by caries or trauma.
Extractions of teeth that did not make their eruption totally or partially in the dental arches.
Extraction of supernumerary teeth.
Extractions for orthodontic reasons, to gain space in the dental arches.
Removal of cysts and lesions of soft parts (gums, tongue, oral mucosae).
Removal of specific cystic lesions at the level of the dental roots, apicectomies, in which the lesion is removed and the apical third of the root for being the area where pathogenic microorganisms can be found.
Pre-prosthetic surgery for corrections of bone margins of the jaws or abnormal bone formations.

ENDODONTICS

“root canal treatment, devitalisation…”

When the spontaneous painful dental symptomatology does not become attenuated or disappears and is associated with touch or pressure pain, whether because this tooth presents a caries lesion or because it has suffered trauma with or without fracture, it means that we have an irreversible inflammatory picture of the dental pulp ie the content within the root canal or the roots commonly known as "the nerve".
Endodontics (canal treatment) in addition to eliminating the signs and symptoms previously mentioned, saves and maintains the tooth avoiding complications and, together with the posterior, reconstruction, returns to the tooth its masticatory function.
Although any doctor is able to perform these treatments, there are experts who are dedicated mainly to this area.

At Clinica Amorim, any of the doctors is able to act initially, eliminating the signs and symptoms, being the subsequent treatment completed by a specialist.

PERIODONTOLOGY

Area of Dental Medicine that deals with the pathologies of the periodontium, the system responsible for the support of the teeth, consisting of gingiva, alveolar bone, ligaments and various fibers that involve the root and act as buffers under the effect of masticatory forces.
Due to specific personal conditions such as some local or systemic pathological situations, unhealthy habits (smoking), abnormal dental positions and if this is associated with inadequate or insufficient hygiene habits, this support system can be called into question.
Initially there is the inflammation of the gums resulting in gingival bleeding and bad breath. If unidentified and untreated they can progress to periodontitis, bone loss, ligament destruction and tooth movement, culminating in the loss of these.
The aim of Periodontology is to observe, diagnose, treat and control the disease using techniques of removal of the infragengival tartar to improve the condition of the local tissues when still recoverable or using more advanced techniques promoting the guided regeneration of lost tissues or replacing through bone grafts.

PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION OR PROSTHODONTICS

Tooth loss can be partial, more or less numerous or total and the rehabilitation of the lost teeth is fundamental in several aspects:
Functional allowing mastication and phonetics;
Aesthetics contributing to restoring personal self-esteem, improving interpersonal contacts.
This rehabilitation can be done through:

  • PARTIAL REMOVABLE SKELETAL

  • REMOVABLE ACRYLIC PARTIAL PROSTHESES

  • ACRYLIC TOTAL PROSTHESES

  • UNITARY FIXED PROSTHESES: CROWNS

  • FIXED PROSTHESES WITH MORE THAN THREE TEETH: BRIDGES

  • REMOVABLE OR FIXED PROSTHESES: IMPLANT SUPPORTED

The CLINICAMORIM after evaluating the clinical situation of the patient presents the possible solutions and clarifies all the details so that the patient makes an informed choice.

Acrylic prosthetics that currently present new types, flexible prostheses, especially suitable for people with difficulty adapting to conventional acrylics because they are associated with: comfort, less gingival irritation along with excellent masticatory efficacy

Skeletal Prosthetics

skeletal prosthetics 1

Fixed unitary prostheses - the crowns - or with more than one tooth joined together - the bridges

Tooth or implant supported

Total hybrid prostheses, total acrylic prostheses that can be supported by some implants, screwed or simply fitted in these

ORTHODONTICS

Orthodontics is the area of dentistry that involves the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of problems caused by teeth that do not articulate harmoniously, due to the poor position of these and the jaws.
The beginning of the treatment is through a study that involves the cephalometric analysis of the profile radiography, analysis of the models of the mouth, analysis of the photographs and the clinical history.
Deciding which treatment is most appropriate requires an individualized and complete study evaluating the bone and dental structure, always paying attention to the needs and expectations of the patient.
A good dental alignment allows a correct relation between the arches, obtaining a better dental aesthetic, facial, occlusal and functional balance.
CLINICAMORIM collaborates with specialists who offer a very complete offer on types of orthodontics:
INTERCEPTION - indicated for deciduous or mixed dentition and aimed at correcting early disturbances, as well as eradication and re-education in cases of harmful habits such as nail-biting, pacifier use, thumb or lip suckling, or palate expansion, reducing the consequences of mouth breathing, palate expansion…
It is important that children are observed between 4 and 5 years of age or at least between 7 and 8 years of age.
CORRECTIVE - young age and adults when there is a malocclusion with functional and aesthetic disorders.
It can be done through removable braces and fixed braces, the last being more frequently applied.
INVISIBLE - INVISIALIGN, made from transparent and removable trays that are replaced every week. They have the advantage of allowing correct dental hygiene, are invisible and can be removed in demanding social or professional situations.

QUICK ORTHODONTICS

quick orthodontics

QUICK ORTHODONTICS - 6 to 9 months – GENIOVA

A blend of brackets, removable transparent trays and beads. These have the advantages of allowing correct dental hygiene, of being partially invisible and of being taken out in demanding social or professional situations.

ORAL HYGIENE

Oral Hygiene is the area of Dental Medicine that is dedicated to the removal of bacterial plaque and tartar, removal of external stains, root straightening, tooth polishing, application of cleansing sealants, application of desensitizers, application and removal of periodontal patches and education for oral health. It is an area of intervention aimed at the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of oral diseases, which play a decisive role in the maintenance of treatments performed in other intervention areas. In this context, we also highlight the pedagogical aspect that through teaching and demonstration of specific techniques contributes to the improvement of oral health. Good oral hygiene is a determinant factor in the prevention of most diseases affecting oral health, characterized by the correct elimination of food residues and making it impossible for a set of bacteria to attach to the teeth and gums that, if not removed, will give origin to bacterial plaque formation, the main cause of cavities and periodontal diseases.
